Youth Protection Training Now Required For Merit Badge Counselors

Cherokee/Pickens District,

As you may have heard, per the National Council, youth protection training is now mandatory for all registered adults in the BSA. This includes Merit Badge counselors. All new Merit Badge counselors must submit a copy of a current youth protection training certificate with the adult application. Applications without the certificate will not be accepted. Also, counselors without current youth protection training will be dropped from the list of approved Merit Badge counselors at recharter time. These changes are effective immediately.

Remember, youth protection training expires every two years. Please take a few minutes to complete youth protection training if you have not already done so.

Congratulatory Letters From Representative Tom Price

Representative Thomas Price loves to write a congratulatory letter to all Eagle Scouts as well as help you get US flags flown over the Capitol.

In order to do this in a timely fashion you need to go through the local—Canton Office NOT his Washington DC Office.

Following the anthrax attacks, the Capitol Police began screening and irradiating every piece of mail before it is delivered to Congressional offices. The additional screening unfortunately results in delays in delivery of letters and packages by weeks!

Please send all requests for letters or flags to:

Jennifer Poole
Office of Congressman Tom Price
100 North Street
Suite 150
