DIRECTIONS TO CAMP ALLATOONA AQUATICS BASE

FROM WOODSTOCK

Take Hwy. 92 west to Bells Ferry Rd. turn right. Go north on Bells Ferry Rd. (towardsC anton ) to Victoria Rd. on the left. There is a Country Cupboard convenience store on the corner. Turn left and follow Victoria Rd. until you come to a stop sign, turn right onto North Victoria Rd. Go to Lovingood Drive on your left this will take you into the Allatoona Shores subdivision. Follow Lovingood Drive until you reach the camp it's behind the subdivision.

FROM CANTON/HOLLY SPRINGS

Go to Sixes Rd to Bells Ferry Rd turn left. Follow Bells Ferry Rd south (towards Woodstock ) cross the lake at Little River Landing. Go to the first road on your right this will be North Victoria Rd. Go to Lovingood Drive on your right this will take you into the Allatoona Shores subdivision. Follow Lovingood Drive until you reach the camp it's behind the subdivision.

DIRECTIONS TO WOODRUFF SCOUT RESERVATION

Go I-575 north. I-575 becomes SR 515 and passes through Jasper, Ellijay, and Blue Ridge. As you pass through the north side of Blue Ridge you will cross SR 60. Go approx. 2.3 miles past SR 60 and turn left onto Loving Rd. There is a Fina gas station on the corner as well as a mobile home dealer. Go to the end of Loving Rd. ( basically go until you're absolutely sure that you have gone too far then go three more miles). Loving Rd. dead ends into SR 325 turn right onto SR 325. Take the first road on your right this will be Boy Scout Rd. and will lead you to Woodruff Scout Reservation.

DIRECTIONS TO BERT ADAMS SCOUT RESERVATION

Go to I-20 east however is best for you.

Take I-20 east to exit 88, Almond Rd./Porterdale. Turn right at the top of the ramp. Follow Porterdale Rd. south through Porterdale. Continue until you reach the fire station. Turn right on Flat Shoals Rd. and follow it until you come to Ga. 36. Turn right and go south on Ga. 36 for 3 miles turn right on Boy Scout Rd. The camp entrance is 1/4 mile down on the right.

Holly Springs Elementary School

Holly Springs Elementary is located on Hickory Rd. between Hwy. 5 and East Cherokee Dr.
Hickory Rd. intersects Hwy. 5 in Holly Springs, crosses East Cherokee Dr. in Hickory Flat, and intersects Hwy. 140 in Hickory Flat.
East Cherokee Dr. intersects Hwy. 5 between Woodstock and Holly Springs, crosses both Hickory Rd. and Hwy. 140 in Hickory Flat, crosses Hwy. 20 in Macedonia, and intersects Hwy. 5 again north of Canton.
There are a multitude of ways to get to the school and many secondary roads that cross Hickory Rd., East Cherokee Dr., and Hwy. 5. The best directions I can give is to consult MapQuest for driving directions from your house.

Camp Windy Waters

.Camp Windy Waters is located near Cartersville, near the dam on Lake Allatoona. Go GA-20 W from Canton about 15 miles. Turn left on Rowland Springs Road. Follow Rowland Springs Road until it dead ends into McKaskey Creek Road, turn left. Follow McKaskey Creek Road for about 2 miles Camp Windy Waters will be on your left just before the entrance to McKaskey Creek Campground. There’s a sign facing the road.

Alternately you can go GA-92 W to I-75 N to GA-20 E. After exiting I-75 turn right on GA-20 E, go to the first road on your right, Co Rd 294N/Spur 20, turn right. There’s a gas station on one corner and a Wendy’s on the other corner. Follow Co Rd 294N/Spur 20 for about 2 miles to McKaskey Creek Road. there’s a convenience store on the right and a sign directing you to McKaskey Creek Campground. Follow McKaskey Creek Road for about 2 miles Camp Windy Waters will be on your left just before the entrance to McKaskey Creek Campground. There’s a sign facing the road.

Hickory Road Baptist Church

Hickory Road Baptist Church is about 1 block east of Holly Springs Elementary School on the opposite side of Hickory Road from the school, see above.

Hickory Flat Elementary School

Hickory Flat Elementary is located at the intersection of East Cherokee Dr. and Hickory Rd. in Hickory Flat, just south of where East Cherokee Dr. intersects Hwy. 140. See the directions to Holly Springs Elementary.

Hillside United Methodist Church

Get off I-575 on to Towne Lake Parkway (Exit 8) and turn west (away from downtown Woodstock). Veer to your right after approximately 1.5 miles and continue on Towne Lake Parkway for approximately 2.5 miles. When you get to the intersection of Rose Creek Drive (Publix will be on your left) turn right at the traffic light into Hillside United Methodist Church. MAP

Canton First United Methodist Church

From the South of Canton
Go I-575 North to exit 16B. Exits 16A & 16B share the same ramp off I-575 then the ramp splits. Stay right for Exit 16B. Follow Exit 16B down the hill until it deadends into Hwy. 140. Turn right on Hwy. 140 then immediate right at Lower Scott Rd. The Church's driveway is the first road on the left. See map.

From the North of Canton
Go I-575 South to Exit 17. Follow Exit 17 down the hill until it deadends into Hwy. 140. Turn left on Hwy. 140 go under the I-575 bridge and turn right at Lower Scott Rd. it's just past the exit ramp for I-575 North. The Church's driveway is the first road on the left. See map.

Cherokee County CRPA Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is located at the South Annex at 7545 Main Street in Woodstock. This is on Highway 5, north of the Woodstock Library and south of the SCRA ball fields.

Tate Elementary School
5630 Hwy. 53 East, Tate.

Go I-575 north. I-575 becomes Highway 5 at Ballground. Don't be confused there's an Old Highway 5 and a New Highway 5. I-575 becomes New Highway 5 which is what you want. Continue north on Highway 5 until you come to Highway 108, there's a traffic light. Turn right on Highway 108 and follow it east. Highway 108 will end when it intersects Old Highway 5 in Tate. Just cross over Old Highway 5 onto Highway 53 east. Follow Highway 53 east for a few miles to Tate Elementary which will be on your right. You can't miss it, It's a beautiful old school made of marble.
Take a look at the map it'll clarify things.

Holly Springs Train Depot

The Holly Springs Train Depot is at the intersection of Hickory Rd. and Palm St. in Holly Springs and like it's name suggests is an old train depot. It's on Hickory Rd. just a few feet east of Hwy. 5.

From the north go I-575 to exit 14, Hwy. 5. Turn left at the top of the ramp and go south on Hwy. 5 to the 4th traffic light and turn left on Hickory Rd. the depot is on your right.

From the south go I-575 to exit 11, Sixes Rd. Turn right on Sixes Rd. and go to Hwy. 5. Turn left on Hwy. 5 and go north to the first traffic light and turn right on Hickory Rd. The depot will be on your right.

Hickory Rd. intersects Hwy. 5 in Holly Springs, crosses East Cherokee Dr. in Hickory Flat, and intersects Hwy. 140 in Hickory Flat.

Camp Pinholster, Ball Ground

Go I-575 north to the Howell Bridge Rd. exit 27. At the top of the ramp turn right, go 1/2 block to Hwy. 5 turn right onto Hwy. 5 south. Go approximately 1 mile turn left on Northridge Rd., follow Northridge Rd. 1-1/2 miles to Flat Bottom Rd. turn right. Follow Flat Bottom Rd. 1-1/2 miles to Camp Pinholster on the right.

FROM WOODSTOCK

Take Hwy. 92 west to Bells Ferry Rd. (Hwy 205) turn right. Go north on Bells Ferry Rd. (towards Canton ) to East Bells Ferry Road on your right about 1 mile before Little River Landing.

FROM CANTON/HOLLY SPRINGS

Bells Ferry Rd (Hwy 205) intersects Hwy 5 at the South Canton V. Turn west on Bells Ferry Rd (Hwy 205). You can also go to Sixes Road and go west to Bells Ferry Rd (Hwy 205) turn left. Follow Bells Ferry Rd south (towards Woodstock ) cross the lake at Little River Landing. East Bells Ferry Road will be on your left about 1 mile past Little River Landing.

 

Troop 465 Scout Hut

Troop 465's Scout Hut is located at 5742 East Cherokee Dr about 2.7 miles North of Hwy. 140, Hickory Flat. It's on the right just past Thomas Rd. There's a gateway with Troop 465 on it.

 

Holly Springs United Methodist Church
3885 Holly Springs Parkway (Hwy.5), Holly Springs

Holly Springs UMC is located on the west side of Hwy.5 (a.k.a Holly Springs Pkwy.) about 1 mile south of I-575, Exit #14 in Holly Springs. From the south it's about1/2 mile north of Hickory Rd. and the Holly Springs Train Depot.

 

ALU Menziken Aerospace

NOTE: This ALU Menziken Aerospace warehouse is not located at ALU Menziken Aerospace's office which is in the same industrial park. If you do a search for ALU Menziken Aerospace you'll get their office address not the address to this warehouse.

To get to the warehouse take 575 to exit 19 (Hwy. 20). Turn right at the exit ramp. Go to the first traffic light. Turn right. Go to the 4th drive on the right side of the road. Turn in drive and veer to the right to the loading docks. Look for the green popcorn sign at the driveway.

Boling Park

Boling Park is located at 1200 Marietta Hwy. (GA-5) just North of the Etowah River in Canton. There's an entrance on the West side of Marietta Hwy. (GA-5) between the river and armory.

Go Hwy. 92 East, turn left on Old Mountain Park Road, turn left onto Gunners Run, into Gunners Pond. Follow Gunners Run to Ledieu Rd. turn left and follow Ledieu Rd. to the pool.

From Woodstock: Take I-575 North to exit 27, Howell Bridge Road. Turn right. Take a left onto old Hwy. 5 and turn right at the light onto Gilmer Ferry Road. Turn left onto Old Dawsonville Road. The park is immediately on the right.

From Canton: Take I-575 North to exit 27, Howell Bridge Road. Turn right. Take a left onto old Hwy. 5 and turn right at the light onto Gilmer Ferry Road. Turn left onto Old Dawsonville Road. The park is immediately on the right.

Ball Ground UMC

Ball Ground United Methodist Church is on Canton Hwy (Old Hwy 5), just north of the intersection with Hwy 372. Take I-575 North to Exit 27, Howell Bridge Road. Turn right at the top of the ramp and go down hill on Howell Bridge Rd to the four way stop at Canton Highway (Hwy. 5). Turn left on Canton Highway (Hwy. 5). Go straight through the traffic light at the intersection with Hwy 372. The church entrance is about 1/4 mile past the light on the left.

From the North:
Take I-575 south to exit 14, Hwy 5/Holly Springs Parkway turn right. Go north on Hwy. 5/Holly Springs Parkway approximately one mile to Univeter Rd. Turn right on Univeter Rd. and go approximately one mile to the Malon D. Mimms Boys and Girls Club on the right, next to Kenny Askew Park.

Go I-575 to exit #19 (Hwy. 20). Go east (Hwy. 20 becomes East Main St.) towards downtown Canton for .8 miles to Muriel St. on your left. Follow Muriel St. for .1 miles McCanless Park and the Scout hut will be on your right. The Scout hut is the red building. The Scout hut has no address. For mapping purposes use the address of the house next to McCanless Park, 141 Muriel St.

Bascomb UMC is just northwest of the intersection of Bascomb Carmel Rd. and Putnam Ford Dr. Be forwarned that Bascomb Carmel Rd. on some maps is also idenified as Bascomb Church Rd. and Carmel Bascomb Rd.

From I-575 go west on Towne Lake Pkwy. to Eagle Dr. Follow Eagle Dr. west to Putnam Ford Dr. (Etowah High School will be on your right) turn left. Follow Putnam Ford Dr. to Bascomb Carmel Rd. turn right. Bascomb UMC will be on your left. Alternately from I-575 take Hwy. 92 west to Bascomb Carmel Rd. turn right. Follow Bascomb Carmel Rd. until you pass Putnam Ford Dr. Bascomb UMC will be on your left.

From Bells Ferry Rd. going south from Canton turn left on Bascomb Carmel Rd. Follow Bascomb Carmel Rd. Bascomb UMC will be on your right. Alternately from Bells Ferry Rd. going north from Woodstock turn right on Old Bascomb Rd. Follow Old Bascomb Rd. to Bascomb Carmel Rd. turn right. Follow Bascomb Carmel Rd. Bascomb UMC will be on your right.
